Pain near kidney?

So this morning I got shooting pain near my right kidney, went to the bathroom, and a few minutes later it was back to normal. 
What was that?

Sounds like a gas pain to me. I have been getting them more frequently in the past two weeks.

That’s been happening to me. On and off. I drink water to see if it goes away and it slowly does .but years ago when I went to use the bathroom it happened and it hurt ALOT but really fast like one pulse.And it turns out I passed a kidney stone. That one hurt bad though.
