Postpartum bleeding or period?

Is it possible to go right into your period following postpartum bleeding?. I don’t know which it is and it’s starting to bum me out😔 i am 5 weeks postpartum. At birth i had trailing membranes but my midwife had me squat to get them out. It worked. 5 days later more came out when i wiped. My bleeding was normal and lightened up fast in my opinion. My postpartum appointment is next Friday. Maybe around three weeks postpartum it went back to bright red after tapering off fairly quickly. I exclusively breastfeed. There are next to no clots only little bits. I was fine with pantyliners but today i had to put on a pad. But it’s not heavy I’m not soaking it in an hour. it’s bright red and sometimes dark when i wipe right at my vaginal opening. I’m a little crampy. What you guys think? I’m just over bleeding 🤦🏽‍♀️
