Big enough????

Question

Is this tank big enough for 4 tetras? It’s a 6.5 gallon.

the gallon per inch rule is so outdated. it doesn't take into account the fish's level of activity, the part of tank they occupy, or dimensions of tank. 
4 tetras need a 10 gallon tank BARE minimum. They would be better off in a 20 gallon long though. They are a fairly active fish, and get bigger than most ppl think. I have Black skirt tetras that are 2 inches long easy. I have 8 in a 75g and they utilize the whole tank.

I have cardinal tetras which don’t get as large as some of the rounder bodied tetras and I still wouldn’t put them in smaller than a 20gal. Schooling fish are very active and love being in larger groups so a 6.5 would be too small in my opinion

the rule of thumb I have always been told is 1 gallon of water for every 2 inches of fish. so you should be fine
