Has anyone been told you are having a miscarriage but ended up having a normal pregnancy?
LONG POST! I went in for my 1st ultrasound on Thursday the 26th. It was supposed to be a happy day. I had been waiting all week to finally get to see my lil peanut. According to my LMP I was 10 weeks that day. Ultrasound started and I ask the tech if we woild be able to listen to babies heart? She replies I don't think you are as far along as you think... So I'm laying there like okay..no... she proceeds to tell me she needs to do an internal ultrasound because she is having trouble seeing. I get up, go empty my bladder, come back and she proceeds with internal ultrasound. I could see the look in her face wasn't so good but she wouldn't say anything. Then she remover transvaginal device and says she doesn't see a heart rate. She asks me to get dressed and wait in the room. I sit there confused. She comes back and tells me to go home and to follow up with my doctor later that mornin. Doctor finally calls me and tells me he is sure it's a miscarriage. I asked him how far along did i measure and he says I was about 3 weeks off from what we thought I was. He asks me if I wanted bloodwork to see if my hcg levels were high. Of course I said yes. Calls me the next day and sayss my levels were in the 28,000 so clearly a heart rate should have been seen. I'm so confused. I don't have any bleeding or any miscarriage symptoms. A coworker of mine, says they told her the same thing at that hospital and she didn't believe them either now she has a perfectly healthy 7 month old. I know I might be in denial but what are the chances? This is my first pregnancy.
