My (now ex) boyfriend cheated on me. I blame him because he’s the one who did it. I didn’t even know that girl. He’s the one who promised to be faithful and lied. She didn’t make him cheat. He chose to.

The only reason I would lay any blame on the other person would be if it were a family member or close friend of mine. Other than that, it's all on my SO. Even if the other person knew he was married. I definitely wouldn't like them, but I wouldn't blame them. My husband took vows, not them.

Depends on the circumstances who I’d blame but ultimately if you’re in a committed relationship your partner broke a vow to you and is to blame.  Depends on the circumstances if I’d hold the outside party accountable or not.  Ultimately it was his choice and his transgression.  I know someone said it takes two to tango but if he paid an escort to have sex with him I’m not going to blame the escort for doing their job... I’m going to blame him for stepping out on me.

There's loads of shitty people in the world. There are people who PREFER to be with people currently in relationships.. your SO, however, made a promise to you that they would be with you and only you. Why should anyone else feel obligated to respect your relationship? It is unequivocally the SO's choice to stray outside of your relationship and break that trust. So unless it's your family or friend that does it with your SO, then I truly do not understand why people lay blame on the other person. No one can enable or trick your SO into betraying you. That's why conscious decision on their part.
