I guess I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just name him Brodie if that’s the name he will go by.

Name him Brodie David
My husband is called by his middle name and he hates it. It's too confusing especially as an adult with legal documents etc.  He's considered getting it switched legally but it's time consuming and expensive.

I can't hear the name Brody / Brodie without thinking of the word grody.  It's like my brain assumes people named Brody have poor hygiene. I'm sure he'll hear comments of that sort at school. Personally I dislike the name for that reason. It's your kid, obviously, but I thought you might want to know about the possible downside so you know what you're getting into.
