Ouch!! Newborn-feels like bite more than suck???

Question

Anyone else? It hurts so bad. My first was was NOT like this. My nipples hurt so bad already. Hoping lactation consultant can suggest something tomorrow. Please share any suggestions.

My baby had an insane suck, so hard that it cracked both of my nipples so bad, I got mastitis afterwards. I would cry every time I fed her. I tried everything, different nipple creams, breastmilk to help them heal, keeping them aired out, etc. nipple shields were my last resort (I didn’t want to bottle feed her at all) & it worked amazing!! It relaxed her suck and also healed my nipples especially because I just let my milk dry on them. It took about a week and a half & we were back to breastfeeding normally

I feel your pain 😖. I had bleeding nipples with my daughter and it hurt SOOOOO much I used to scream and cry when she’d first latch on ☹️. 
I used nipple cream which helped a little and the pain got better after a few weeks. I didn’t know about nipple shields back then but some people have said they help xx
