glucose test at 8wks?

so this is pregnancy and baby#3 for me. And I've never had to get the glucose test this early. I had my 1st appointment yesterday and my doctor want me to get a glucose test when I do my blood work tomorrow.  kinda curious as to why so early. with my previous 2 didmt have this test until about 25weeks

Yeah that’s weird. I would refuse to do it this early because it’s incredibly unlikely GD would show up this early. Tell her you’re happy to do it later in the pregnancy but you’re not doing it this soon. You’d probably end up having to repeat it

Did you have GD in past pregnancies or either type of normal diabetes? Only other reason I can think of is if you're already overweight and they're just concerned?
