Getting my story out for support! 😊
Well! Looks like I have a definite go ahead for a VBAC!!
I had a c-section last March with my first baby due to her being posterior and also such a large baby (9 lbs 3 oz) and her head was also large. It was not an emergency section 🙏🏼 she was not in distress, simply not fitting through lol!
After she was born and I was still in the hospital my midwives and the nurses all informed me that if I wanted to attempt a VBAC with another baby they would have to be 19 months apart. So ideally, I shouldn’t get pregnant before my daughter is 10 months old. Well surprise !!! I got pregnant when she was 6.5 months old 🤣 Thus being, my babies will be around 15.5 months apart!
I was one of the lucky ones whose surgery went very smooth and I recovered very well. So when I found out I was pregnant under the “safe timeline” I assumed I would be told repeat c-section and I was ok with that! My first 2 midwife appointments I was set on having a repeat c-section but as I spoke to my midwives and did my own research I learned that it is safe for a VBAC under 18 months (with obviously a check list like: type of incision, reason for first c-section etc.).
I had a VBAC consult with an OB on Monday and with all the factors from my pregnancies, last c-section details, labour, etc. she has given me the support and go ahead to try for a VBAC!!
I’m excited and scared at the same time!! I’m scared of the healing down there on my lady parts 😂 not going to lie I did NOT mind my c-section scar and the tiny bit of pain I had verses the torn up lady parts. None the less, I know vaginal birth is best for baby and baby’s delivery is the most important.
WRITING THIS POST TO ENCOURAGE OTHER MOTHERS FROM MY STORY AND SUPORT EACH OTHER DURING OUR PREGNANCIES. I know there are similar moms out there who feel the same as I do and I’m writing this for hope for you! Please no negative comments
Please share your successful VBAC stories with me too! Even simply writing “I had a successful VBAC under 18 months” is SOO encouraging for me 😊❤️🙏🏼
