Is it just my family?!

Does anyone else's family treat them like they are helpless while pregnant? Don't get me wrong I love my family & their eagerness to want to help me do some stuff but I feel overwhelmed they treat me like if I do anything for myself I might get hurt... My brother comes over to take out trash when my husband is working, my grandma cleans my dishes & cabinets she even sometimes vacuums my whole house, my  husband cooks & does all the chores when he's not working, I'm only a few days over 18 weeks & only thing I get to do by myself is shower that's when my other two children aren't bugging me 😂

I can see how that could be annoyed but... Try to enjoy it! You may not feel you need it now but you may in a few months!

ME! It started after my husband and I got engaged back in May 2013. Everyone knew how open we were to having kids after marriage [Nov '13] and EVERY LITTLE THING, my family [who we live with] and my in-laws would step in, even when we weren't TTC [my husband's in the military and was gone--in total--for 18 months].

They didn't want me lifting things no matter how light, like a load of laundry or a couple of grocery bags.

When my in-laws moved, I said I'd go through my husband's room [fiancé at the time] to trash and pack things. They packed everything before the day I said I'd come to help and said I could go home and they didn't need my help. His things were placed in our extra office/room and one day, my dad decided to condense everything without telling me!

Yesterday, my dad and grandma went into our room and bathroom to clean. They like to do this when he's away and I'm out of the house. I flip out in silence wondering where the hell everything is hiding.

Also, I don't see how they think me driving late at night [as late as 2am when we visit my husband's family] is safer than my friends driving me and getting me home by 11pm.

Last weekend, my husband and I saw that our car had a flat but couldn't take it in till the next morning because the shop was already closed for the day. The next morning, while my husband and i were still sleeping, my dad sees it and decides to take off the tire and tells us to go to the shop to get it fixed.

I get it, I'm 22 weeks. I haven't nested yet. I'm also awake for less than half of the day [yes, 12+ hrs of sleep. Perks of being a stay-at-home]. My husband works a lot and doesn't come home every day because of it... but please, stay out of our crap and let us handle things. We have plans, too.

I really need to get a lock for our room. If only we weren't trying to save money. These are the many times I wish we lived on our own. *apparently I had a lot to say... emotional writing. end rant*

They're so sweet! I think that's their way of showing you their love and support. .. I'm sure it can get annoying! In my language- don't know if it's the same in English, we call it a bear's hug- when someone loves you so much he hugs you but he strangles you in the way...
Maybe try to explain them you can still do things by your own, and you really appreciate their support but you would like to do some of the things by yourself

Yes that would probably bother me as well, especially not having much privacy, but take advantage while u can.
