I just moved my husbands collectables because they were driving me insane

My husband has slowly been filling our bookcases and living room with gaming collectables, figurines, consoles, retro gaming gear etc. and it's been driving me insane. I feel so embarrassed to have people over because our living room looks like a teenagers bedroom. I've asked him to move his things countless times and he refuses to as they're quite expensive and he's proud of them... Also there's nowhere to really move them to as our house is so small so the only option is to really pack them up and store them in the garage which is an idea he absolutely HATES. Well after months of begging I've just packed up his things and messaged him telling him I will help him reorganise them this weekend (box them up, re-home some things to other parts of the house)... so far no response. How do I minimise the fallout from this? I know what I did wasn't ideal but neither is his hording things in our living spaces where we entertain and our son plays.
