Ok so here’s the situation:

I have an aunt who has been on drugs for the last 14 years. She lost custody of her first 3 kids (my parents adopted 2 of them and the dad took the other one)

She had a fourth child and by this time I was married and had my own place, she wanted me and my husband to take the baby- we agreed.

Well she then changed her mind and wanted to keep the baby, baby was in the nicu for a while due to the drugs she took while pregnant. I was there every day with her and brought her home the day she was released. She spent 99% of her first year with me. I bought her clothes, shoes, formula ect. Well once she started talking and calling me mama (didn’t do it on purpose I tried to get her to call me Rach) her mom got mad and stopped letting me see her.

She just turned 3 and I’ve seen her a handful of times the last couple years.

Well I get a call this morning from her mom asking me to keep her today, out of the blue. I told her no...... I feel horrible cause I would LOVE to see and spend time with her but I don’t want to do everything all over again. What would you all have done?

I also have 2 kids of my own now so it’s not just me whom it would effect if I started the whole cycle over again.

I don’t know, I just need to know that I did the right thing I guess. I don’t know 😩
