Pregnant on Liletta IUD *Update*#2

I’m so disappointed, my IUD has been working successful for a year. So why fail me now?

I started getting pregnancy symptoms & just thought it was my IUD stopping my period since my last menstrual was super light. It just wasn’t sitting right with me though because my boobs never swell, or feel sore when I get my period so I hesitantly took a pregnancy test & the results showed what I feared; Pregnant.

I’m very disappointed, I don’t need nor want any children at the moment that is the main reason why I chose this birth control method. So I scheduled an appointment with Planned Parenthood a couple days ago. I am 5 weeks pregnant.

As of yesterday I started experiencing cramps, today they are very sharp cramps & it’s making it difficult for me to work. I was reading & have been hearing about how iud pregnancies usually end in miscarriages or end up being an ectopic pregnancy.

Right now I’m experiencing pains that point towards ectopic pregnancy.

An abortion costs $470 but if it’s an ectopic one my insurance will pay 100% of it since ectopic pregnancies are dangerous & life threatening to the mother.

I can’t believe this is happening my boyfriend & I had so much faith in this little T shaped birth control. It’s 99.9% effective so why fail me now?

I honestly hope there won’t be any issues & I hope it hasn’t perforated my uterus.

Has anyone else gotten pregnant with an IUD?

How did you find out, what did you do? What birth control are you on now?

***Update***

So I went to Planned Parenthood, the did a pregnancy test & it came back positive. I went in for a vaginal ultrasound & they couldn’t see the pregnancy. So they made me do another pregnancy test & yet again positive The doctor came in & did another vaginal ultrasound & looked around. They saw the iud but no pregnancy nor can they see my ovaries. They fear it’s an ectopic pregnancy so they referred me to a hospital & told me it was urgent that i go to the ER. I’m here at the hospital now waiting to be seen. Will update in a few.

So The doctors at the ER couldn’t find the pregnancy either. I went on Monday to get blood drawn so they could test my pregnancy levels. Got a call Tuesday & my levels dropped down to 45 so I go back in to get more blood works done on Monday to see if the levels have dropped some more. If they do then that means the pregnancy is failing on its own. I no longer feel pregnant though so I feel the pregnancy is ending.
