How many baby clothes do you need?

Update:

[okay so apparently I will be doing laundry more than twice a week for clothes, that’s something I’ve now learned. I knew I’d be doing laundry daily for the diapers, maybe I’ll do twice a week regular washes and then bad blow-out clothes can go in with the diapers? I still am up to doing clothes more than twice a week, I’ll just be a first time mum with apparently an abnormal, extraordinarily blow-out-free nannying experience. I’m sorry for not knowing this being the first of my friends to have a baby and both of our parents are kind of out of the picture, so were doing this alone or on advice from literally a half century ago when our grandparents raised our parents.]

Everyone seems to go so crazy with clothes and I don’t really see the point unless it’s for a special occasion (y’all do you obviously, it’s adorable! Just personally adorable vs. frugality.... frugality wins out)

I plan on buying a couple of special outfits, but other than that I’m just thinking I need a couple of sleepers of each size, 2 packs of plain white onesies (short and/or long depending on the season), 2 packs of neutral leggings, and then having fun with some accessories like drool bibs or headbands and such after we are pregnant and find out the sex. Also some sweaters & cardigans and a winter suit in whatever size they’ll be in the winter.

I plan on buying some cutesy outfits for special occasions and holidays/gatherings, but I don’t even have that much clothes myself—all of my and my husbands clothes fill up less than 1/2 the closet and we only have a little over 60 pieces combined.

Does this look like enough clothes? I mean, since I’m cloth diapering, a lot of the time in the summer they may not even wear clothes at all, or maybe I’d buy some sets of baby tshirts
