Hubby away and ovulating

So I am usually ovulating between cd 22-25 (ttc for 12 months). My husband needed to work away this month so we tried to avoid ovulation time (next week) so he went away this week instead. I have had egg white cm for last two days and positive opk this morning and this evening on cd 15!! We had sex on Monday and hes back tomorrow evening. Do you think we would have missed it? I'm frustrated that he's away right now and especially as we tried to avoid this and its the first time I've ovulated this early. On the other hand I'm glad I have ovulated early as hopefully I will have a shorter cycle which hopefully will continue. I have had acupuncture for the last month or so, am wondering if this has had an effect on my cycle. Has anyone else had experience of this?
