Anybody start potty training yet?

Just wondering! I’m going to give it a shot this summer while it’s warm out and we can do it outside and be messy! Lol but I’m not expecting it to work. But I am going to try hard!

absolutely not. won't start until she shows CLEAR signs that's shes ready. I have too many friends that were so fed up with diapers and started potty training at 16- 18 months and it turned into a chaotic mess for months on end. 
not starting before at least 2.5 years old and only if shes showes clear signs:
* gets up from day nap with dry diaper for at least 5 times in a row( her one day time nap is 2.5- 3 hrs long. before nap I always change diaper, so shes dry when she goes down. if she can't do a dry diaper during her day nap for at least 5 consecutive days, shes not ready to start potty training- this has been told to me by several people,  including her pediatrician)
* shows interest in the whole potty thing( chases after you to the bathroom,  is curious about what YOU are doing while on the toilet , etc.
* LETS YOU KNOW she needs to potty( TELLS YOU " mommy potty/ mommy poo poo/ mommy pee pee/etc.
* starts pulling diapers off her often.
*  starts to hide in a corner,  when shes popping( becomes aware of pooping and knows she will need changing, thus needing to be away from people, so they dont see her pooping.)

that said, this is somewhat of a controversial topic. I see a few moms in this group ( oct 2016 babies), that have already started potty training months ago. 
some have succeeded,  some curse the day they started because it turned out to me way to early.
every child is different,  so every situation is different. 
our daughter,  although shes very intelligent for her age, has over 80 words as of now, 2 and three word sentences, she does lot show any interest in potty training.  there's absolutely no signs that I should start. and I'm ok with dispers for another year and a half. not a big deal.
I already have a brand new potty still in the box, for when shes ready. for now, I'm sticking to diapers,  because I have seen too many failed potty training attempts,  all due to starting too early.

I have routine potty training going on since we’re due with baby number two in a few weeks. We started a month ago and it actually shocked me how well he took to it. He automatically goes to the bathroom to sit on his potty when he wakes up in the morning, after each meal, after his nap, and before bed. It’s just become his routine and now about half his attempts yield pee or poo. I’m not trying to completely train him right now. I’m trying to get him on a routine and to eliminate diapers during the day. I could care less if he stays in diapers over night until he’s two. But right it is soooooo helpful that he can potty on his own 50% of the time. I feel like routine for us was HUGE. He’s so proud of himself too! Anytime I use the bathroom he wants to come join me and sit on the toilet!

We've had 3 potties around the house since 11 months. At this point, she will take off her diaper and sit on the potty. Sometimes she pees, but most of the time, she don't. If she says she needs to use the bathroom, we take her. We got rid of all her onsies, and she has pants that she can take off easily. We provide her the tools, but let her decide when she wants to use them. We did this method with the other 3 kids and they were all potty trained between 16 months and 23 months. If she takes longer than that, we are okay with it.

We've done it. Just keep it relaxed and fun.  We did a slow progression not a three day method or diaper free. We taught her to use the potty and kept using diapers until she was more consistent with asking for and using the potty if we asked if she needed to. 
I'd start introducing potty stuff now. Like narrate you going to the potty. When you know they are going in their diaper ask if they are going pee or poop so they know the words for what they are doing. They get the hang super quickly. But it takes awhile for them to get consistent. Especially if your kid is in the "No" phase which mine definitely is. 
My daughter prefers a seat on the big potty to a potty chair. And we got a foldable seat I keep in my purse for when we are out since she's too little for the big seats.

Negative. Probably wait until closer to 2.5/3. I don’t want to waste my time when my daughter isn’t ready. Also don’t want to wait too long so fine line I guess! Good luck! If they are talking in short sentences and communicating needs I think you can for sure give it a go! We are still at the one word at a time phase.

we bought a potty a few weeks ago to get ready for it but our child shows no interest in using it. He hasn't shown any signs either that he is ready so it sits next to our toilet in the bathroom for when he shows interest.

We’re doing “potty learning” now with our 18 month old and it’s going really well! Our son’s school has him sit on the potty and try to go at diaper changes, so we reinforce the same at home. No pressure and not formal training, but he gives us hand signals to say he has to go and says “potty.” He goes peepee pretty often and has pooped a few times. I think if you’re up to give it a try and your lo has some interest, it’s all good!

I haven’t started and probably won’t for a while. My daughter just turned 18 months last week and isn’t great at communicating just yet. She has a LOT of words, but she doesn’t seem to notice or care when she is wet or dirty. I’m also having another baby when she’s about 23-23.5 months, so I don’t want to rush things and have her regress.

not yet. he does have a potty and sometimes uses it though. he generally likes to sit on it if we are in the bathroom and thats fine with me. im not forcing him and hes not going diaper free anytime soon.

Heck noooooo. My son just points to his diaper after he pees or poops, which is not an indication he knows before. I will probably wait till 2.5/3. I’m thinking next summer when I’m home (I teAch) and can fully commit to it without relying on other caretakers to do it.
Awesome for those who have! Just not in our cards now.... we will stick to swinging baseball bats and golf clubs 😍
