My son died, but my younger son found a brother.

Some of you read my story a few months ago about his 3rd birthday.

I had a beautiful baby boy Leon 2/3/15 who passed away 5/14/15, due to suffocation because the childcare provider not doing her job.

I used to be in the Navy, we (hubby, the kids and I) moved to my home state so my mom could watch our kids for us. My Aunt watches this little boy Gavin, he is 3. He was born Jan 2015, he is DAYS older than my son Leon who passed away. My aunt brought Gavin over for my son Oliver (7/14/16 - almost 2) to play with!

They play together EVERY day my Aunt has him. They ask to see each other. Gavin has older siblings but too much older to play with him, so having Oliver around is good for him because he has someone his pace to play with.

I love to see Gavin play with Oliver, it lets me visualize what it would have been like to have my Leon and Oliver play. It brakes my heart but it also melts it.

I wish Leon was here but I am glad that Gavin can be here to give Oliver the physical older brother he so desperately wants.

Leon’s anniversary is quickly approaching, look out for a post coming next week about my struggle to cope with losing him and battling subsequent pregnancies including one with the same due date, it’s been a roller coaster.
