early ultrasound?

I'm currently 5w4d. my first appt with my midwife is less than 2 weeks away, when I'm 7w2d. however!! a friend of mine works at a local pregnancy resource center and they need ultrasound "models". they can get me in for free when I'm 6w2d. I was so excited!!! but then it occurred to me, what if something doesn't seem right? do I want to find that out there, or at my midwife's office the following week?

I know it's just worry and anxiety, I have no real reason to assume something would be wrong. any thoughts? would you take the early scan, or wait to see your midwife first and get the free scan later??
