I am a small business owner and entrepreneur. My accountant just told me that I should not make any more money this year (unless I’m going to make a giant amount more) because I will end up paying more taxes and netting less in the end.

What kind of world do I live in where there is no motivation to work hard? To become better?

I worked hard to get where I am, and continue to work hard every day because my efforts directly reflect my income. But now I have every reason to stay where I am unless I can afford a huge gap of netting less money after taxes.

No, I am glad we have to work for things in the US. But I am sad that we give few incentives to do so.
