Acrylic nails as a dancer

So I’ve wanted to get acrylic nails for awhile but haven’t because I’m a dancer (I dance ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz) I’m thinking about getting them after my dance competition team auditions to try over summer, and maybe until competition season. If anyone is/was a dancer and had acrylic nails did it make a difference or make anything harder? Or were they even allowed? I plan on asking that later before I get them. I’ve heard it can make your arms look better, but that’s not why I’m getting them. I want pretty short acrylics, I just hate my nails because they are so thin and never are the same length no matter how hard I try, nail polish also never sticks to them. I think I want maybe just a tiny bit longer then these, but even that length is good
