Hey ladies. I'm gonna come clean and say that I'm new to the concept of Christianity, and I'm growing in my relationship with God. While my life has started to change for the better since I've come into contact with the Lord, but I'm still struggling with something- namely, why is masturbation considered a sin? I can agree that the use of pornography is morally questionable but why is masturbation considered a sin? I can see how it could be a problem if that's ALL you do, but there have been so many studies that show that masturbation helps with physical and mental health, and if it can keep us from partaking in frivolous sex, what's the downside? Like I said, I'm new to this and i don't have many Christian friends to talk to about this, so any feedback would be great. I'm just honestly wondering if masturbation does have it's benefits, why should it be sinful?
