What comes first? The baby or a ring?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years now and we've recently started talking about having baby. I'm ready and he's ready and we're currently trying. We want one really badly. 
However, I brought it up to some of my girlfriend's and they said I need to get a ring first. We've talked about marriage and it's not so much a question of if he'll ask but when he'll ask. We're just not in a hurry to have a wedding yet even though we both want to spend the rest of our lives together. 
Should I stop trying to get pregnant until he pops the question??

I’m pregnant and I’m not married. My boyfriend and I live together. Marriage is just a piece of paper. Personally, I’d like to get married soon but I’m not rushing cause financially for us right now it’s better if we aren’t married lol

YOU DO NOT NEED A RING 💍 BEFORE HAVING A BABY, your girlfriends are just projecting their own wants and wishes onto you, what century do they live in? It's the 21st century now and weddings are a joke but if a piece of paper (marriage) is really that important to you then by all means go down to town hall at lunchtime and discreetly get hitched otherwise keep trying to get pregnant and enjoy the ride as you go. your choice, not theirs. if you're comfortable with where your relationship and life goals are heading, that's all that matters. 
I was engaged but not married when I conceived but it wasn't because I planned it that way but because that's how the timing worked out. I actually conceived the same week we booked our wedding date and venue which made for an exciting year afterwards but it turned out fine to get married with a three month old baby

My SO and I have been together for almost 3 1/2 years! In March he popped the question, and this month we found out we’re pregnant. We are due January of 2019, going to the courthouse and getting married in March. So we can save up money for a nice venue for our actual wedding. More people are going to want to see a ring first, but it’s your life, and they don’t need to judge!

I’ve never been too concerned about marriage or a wedding and we started discussing/trying for a baby long before my fiancé surprised me and bought me a ring. I honestly didn’t think he would propose before we had a child, if ever even, totally content knowing that we were committed to each other and both not worried about “titles” and marriage. 
He proposed to me last year and I’m pregnant now a year later. We haven’t even discussed a wedding date or plans, so sort of still not concerned about marriage... just have a ring now and we call each other “fiancé”. 
If he had never proposed I would still be pregnant now and not concerned about it. Do whatever YOU want! Lots of people have kids without getting married these days.

Personally, I wanted to be married before having a baby so that’s what we did. We are more old-fashioned that way. 
Marriage doesn’t guarantee anything. It depends on the two people in the relationship. You make it what it is, married or not.

P.s I don’t see anything wrong with having a baby and then getting married. I’m a Christian but I am not old school religious, if you know what i mean...As long as you can support a baby financially that’s all that matters!

I told my partner I'd rather have a great friend that a husband... i don't want to own him and I don't think he should own me... just being together and being able to bring up our sons is more important than a ring... but the choice is of people to make...

We got married and gound out we were pregnant about 5 weeks later. We had been trying for 3 years prior. Personally I am very happy it worked this way. I didnt want the state to slam my man with child support costs because we werent married or anything like that. So its what works for us.
