I Just Found Out That I'm Going To Be Induced Next Wednesday. I Feel So Blindsided And Googling Induction Stories Has Made It Kind Of Scary . Please Share Your Induction Story Id You Have Ever Been Induced ? Is There Anything I Can Do To Prepare ? What Should I Expect ?

I was induced with the my last baby. Got the meds at about 9am and she was out by 3:30pm! It went great and there were no complications. There are plenty of stories about how things can wrong because everyone wants to complain about things, but not many people share stories of how easy it was. Everyone is different and you never know what your going to get, but it does go very smooth sometimes!

I was induced with pitocin and rubber balls shoved into my cervix. It was horrible!!!!! My guess is that you just need pitocin as its not an emergent situation. It will jump start labor and your contractions may be more intense due to the meds. Just relax as best you can and let it all happen. Sometimes being induced can lead to c-section but I believe the size of the baby has a lot to do with it as well.

I've been induced three times. It was ok until they broke my water. The pain got worse but I ended up having an epidural all three times.

I was induced twice. I had heard induction was soooo much more painful than non -augmented labor. Obviously I have nothing to compare it to but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The worst part was pushing, which had nothing to do with induction. That pain would've been the same regardless. The second worse part was starting the IV.

I was induced on my due date. I only needed one prostaglandin suppository (11pm) to start contractions strong enough that I wasn't given any other meds. My water broke by 8 am and had my son just before 9am. Luckily my body was ready and responded well without any wild detours. Induction is linked to needing more medical interventions, in general, but know that that doesn't have to be your experience. Trust your body and your baby, both know what to do! And if any potential complications start to develop, you have the hospital staff to care for you both. Good luck (and stop Googling! 😀)

I was induced with my son. They had us come in that Monday night and did something to my cervix to help soften it and get it to start dilating. By the next morning, that hadn't worked, so they were going to start pitocin, but my water broke before they could even start my IV. 8 hours later and we had a healthy baby boy. :)
