My hair and my husband

My husband and I have the same huge argument every 3 months when it's time for me to get my hair done. he always asks me when my hair is going to grow, and if I'm letting it grow out then why do I get it "cut" (all I do is trim about a half inch). he always says he misses my long hair. Now it's time for me to go back, and I want to get peekaboo rose gold highlights. I'm not going to dye my entire head this color. he says that it will look trashy and unprofessional. (I'm a teacher) He fully believes that any wife should consult with her husband when it comes to coloring their hair. especially if it's an unnatural color. I dont feel I should have to have his permission to do this. At the end of the day it's just hair. It is not a big deal. Its MY hair. I just dont understand why I can't do what I want to when it comes to the hair on my head. please help me understand if you agree with him. I do understand that he will be the one looking at me, but does my hair make that much of a difference to literally ruin our relationship.
