41+5 induced vba2c. It’s finally my turn!

Heidi

Ok ladies I hope this story inspires some of you and motivates you to have a wonderful birth experience. ...

So I was getting very impatient because I was 11 days overdue, and mostly devastated because I Knew that my chances for VBAC were declining every day... so when I went in for my 41+4 Nst and visit with my ob, he asked me if I wanted to

Try induction before a repeat csection and of course I said yes! So he scheduled my induction right away. I had just enough time to go out to eat with my husband before we got started!

They started me with a foley bulb which felt like a tampon put in wrong... it was somewhat uncomfortable to have put in but it wasn’t horrible... when they put it in it I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. At the same time I was started on a very very low dose pitocin drip... which was increased every hour by a small amount. I labored with that uncomfortable foley bulb for about 6 hours! I had a doula and she was very helpful... my contractions were about 5 minutes apart and lasting 45 seconds for those 6 hours.... which was nice becasue I was sleeping in between them. I got up to pee after 6 hours of laboring and the foley popped out in the toilet! That meant I was 5 cm.... I immediately got on the birth ball because contractions werenpicking up... on birth ball for about an hour before they checked my cervix and i was at 7 1/2 cm. Ok ladies here’s where shit hit the fan... I was in transition for 3 hours before I was complete! It was insane, no drugs, and very strong medically induced contractions... I started getting pushy with my grunting and groaning so i was checked and ready to push. I quickly mustered up enough energy to flip over to hands and knees... 5 pushes later my baby girl comes spilling out of me! I flipped over on bed and took a breathe... and my baby girl was on my chest, crying for her momma... I didn’t think I was going to make it, but now that it’s over I am so thankful that God gave me the strength to have my 2nd vba2c.... I had only a couple small tears that required NO stitches. Yay! And I am doing great now... the most painful thing is a hemorrhoid that popped out when I was pushing. Thank you Lord for this gift... I pray that you give many more women reading this today the motivation to have a safe and successful labor and delivery!!!
