Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances my mom can no longer come to watch our 3 year old when I give birth to number 2. We have no family in the area and all our friends live at least an hour away which we don’t really want to burden them with coming that far to get him.

So we’re going to take our son with us when we go to the hospital. We’ve made sure he’s allowed to come. Anyone have any experience with having a toddler around while giving birth?

Just to add my husband will be with our son but doesn’t want to miss the birth of his daughter. We’re not interested in hiring someone to watch him. He does have a babysitter that we like but she works full time during the day. Maybe she could watch him if it’s night time but we don’t really want to pay for that.

I really just wanted to know if anyone else did it and what their experience was like.
