My birth story 💕
On Friday march 30 I had an app with my OB, that morning I woke up with what I thought were really light cramps (they were actually contractions obv) at my app my doctor checked me and she said that I was 4 cm dilated keep in mind I was 37 weeks, I had cholestasis during my pregnancy so I was going to get induced the following Monday, my OB told me that if I started contracting during the weekend or later that day to not wait to go to the hospital. So we left and we still hadn't registered at the hospital so we went and did that, we even took a tour of the maternity floor. On the way back we stopped by Mcdonalds and my contractions started to get a little worse. We then decided to go to Walmart and get some last minute things for the baby and that's when my contractions kicked in a bit worse and we left and went to the hospital I went into triage in the maternity floor and they saw that I was still dilated a 4, the nurse made me drink two cups of apple juice because she said I was dehydrated she said since I wasn't in active labor that they couldn't keep me yet. We left and I was gonna go to my house and my bf and I were parked outside my house for about 20 min because I really didn't want to leave. My contractions started getting super bad to the point where I couldn't speak so we headed back to the hospital. When they checked me again I was 7cm so they took me to the labor and delivery room and then I asked for the epidural. I waited for the anesthesiologist for about 20 min while in excruciating pain and I remember the nurses saying that Dr.Jones was gonna be my best friend. They kept saying that he was the best that they had and he was head of the department so that relaxed me a bit hoping nothing would go wrong with the epidural. Once he arrived it probably took 10 min and I wasn't in pain anymore I was as relaxed as I could have been I honestly think I had the perfect amount of epidural because I could still move around a bit but couldn't feel any pain. A couple minutes later the nurse checked me again and said I was 10cm dilated she said she wang d to do a practice push and as soon as I pushed she told me to stop because I was ready and the doctor wasn't there yet. I waited for the doctor for about 20 minutes I was completely relaxed this whole time I've the doctor got there I pushed twice and he was out. I had 3 little tears in different places so she stitched me up while I had my precious baby boy on my chest and he latched on to my boob like a pro. All the nurses were amazed. They kept saying that I made labor look easy. When they were pushing on my stomach to deliver the placenta they kept saying that I didn't even look like I had been pregnant at all. My baby came our weighing 6 pound 9 oz. and he was born at 2:20 a.m. Honestly this was like the most perfect birth I couldn't asked for, no complications or anything I'm so grateful for that and my little baby boy.
