i just had my 20 week scan and the doctor said the cord is attached to membrane rather than the placenta. Dr was not much help, as I asked him a bunch of questions and all he kept telling me was to speak with my OB specifically for any definit answers. He did say he will recommend me to deliver at 39 weeks instead and to go back in 8 weeks to do another scan for growth. Ive read about Velamentous cord insertion before and I dont think this is what may be happening with me as he said the cord is not at all attached to the placenta. Has anyone had this? Im a ball of emotions. I see OB in 2 days. Dr did say baby girl was measuring normal.
