Elective Induction

I usually don’t get a lot of upvotes or comments on anything but I’m curious to know if anyone has thought of doing an elective induction or if there’s anyone in the forum who has? What are some possible risks and the reasons behind your decision? Anything your doctor suggested after asking the question? This is mine and my boyfriends first child. My boyfriend is a truck driver and it’s kind of hard to determine if he’ll be home for the birth of our baby. I was thinking that if I get induced he’ll be able to have a specific date that he can let his job know about and he’ll be home during the delivery. It’s already hard enough going through a pregnancy without him here with me and it’ll really take away the joy of having the baby if he’s not here.
