Breastfeeding? Yay or Nay?

Question

Any moms out there who breast feed ? Can i get some pros and cons. I didn’t produce any milk with my first child and currently not sure if i will with this one. I am currently about 7-8 wks. Personal experiences. Advice. Tips. I want to at least try it. Any ideas on how to help or boost producing milk? Thank you in advance ladies.

Hey! I love breastfeeding my babes and tho I do not judge mamas that formula feed at all, I do believe breastfeeding has way more benefits for your baby. The only thing that helped with my production was essential oils. I used a blend of Fennel, wild orange and fractionated coconut oil. You rub it right on your chest. It worked wonders for me. My other advice would be to not stress so much about it, because stress can affect your supply. Just know that you’re body is awesome and it will do what it needs to do for your baby. If you've had problems in the past and are determined to succeed this time get yourself a lactation consultant. Find one before you have the baby and have them meet you at the hospital after birth. Find an IBCLC to make sure they are properly trained. Also start following groups like Le Leche League international on Facebook to start reading about commom problems people have and what to do. I had a few issues in the beginning because I didn't know what I was doing and I was tricked into formula feeding by a pediatrician but I got a good LC and she helped me get back on track and fix the issues formula feeding caused. It was hard work but I'm glad I stuck with it. After about 12 weeks it got easier and I loved breastfeeding my LO the whole time. I found it easier than formula and not to mention cheaper in the long run. I look forward to having a more successful start with my next baby due in November now that I am more confident and comfortable with it.

We are ebf and it’s the most amazing thing ever.
But it’s not for everyone.
Fed is best all the way but idnits what you want to do- just know that itdhard at times but for real, I cannot stress how much of a bond it has given me with the baby and hownits helped us both mentally and physically.

I got to stressed and dried up around 4 to 6 weeks both times. I'm going to get pills prescribed to help with the milk production. And I'm on anti depressants and anti anxiety meds since my other son was 2 years old so much calmer now

Hi! Just figured I would let you know my experience. With my oldest I tried to breastfeed, but she would never latch properly. We tried for a few weeks and after a whole lot of tears, I gave up. My second was a totally different story. She latched on right away and had the hang of it before we even left the hospital. Now, with my second daughter I wish I would have started pumping/introduced a bottle sooner. She refused to take a bottle from anyone until she was about 10 months; then, she would only take one if I wasn't around. Also, even if your baby doesn't take a bottle the first few months don't stop pumping. I made this mistake and had a really hard time getting my supply back up. I actually never got it back to where it was before I stopped. Good luck! I hope this helped you some.

Breastfeeding is great , but i chose not to with my first . Maybe later on in the future i will breastfeed !
