Concerned about cysts

So I went to the er a few weeks ago because I couldn’t stop bleeding. I know sometimes that periods last a couple days longer but I was bleeding non stop for weeks (Last week of December- about mid March). They did a few tests and sent me on my way with some meds that would make me stop bleeding (kinda worked?). Now I bleed every two weeks and the only new thing logged in my file is a cyst on my right ovary. There’s no way that a cyst or two would ever cause that much bleeding... right?
