I am offended by the “pregnant women can...” movement, because for me, pregnancy is very disabling and I do need a lot of help. I feel like the movement encourages others to see us as no different than anyone else and ignores the fact that pregnancy takes a toll on women’s bodies and that a lot of us are very sick and in pain all the time. I know that pregnancy is different for everyone, but for those of us that are disabled by pregnancy (and there are a lot of us), there needs to be an awareness of what we go through on a daily basis and how much extra work we have to put in just to live normal lives.
