Bullying

So I’m just starting season 2 of 13 Reasons Why. And I just thought to myself “Man Is this really how it is at predominately white schools?” I graduated high school in 2012, so yeah we had social media and cell phones and rumors could easily be spread about you. My high school was mainly black, and if you weren’t just black you were usually mixed with white or Asian. YES, I’ve seen kids get bullied at my high school but never to the point were they commit suicide or turn to shooting up the school. They usually got bullied over petty, childish stuff, like not having the best shoes or if their uniform was old and worn out. At my school if you had a problem with someone you would meet them after school (off school grounds) and fight it out and whether you won or loss that was the end of the beef or whatever you want to call it. I basically just want to know if it’s really like what we see in movies and shows? Especially the lifetime movies I saw as a kid, like “Girl Out”. It just seems like white kids are way more ruthless when it comes to bullying.

Side Note: I know race doesn’t matter, bullying is bullying, period. My questions are just out curiosity because clearly going to a majority black high school my experience is different. Would love to hear about everyone else’s experiences at their high schools.
