Major rant.

Little backstory/disclaimer: I’ve worked at a small town faith-based boutique for a year now. It’s a PART TIME JOB, no benefits. It is a very relaxed environment, my boss is really relatable, close to her employees, we do bible studies together, go to women’s retreats, even know really personal things about each other’s lives, etc etc. My boss is a great lady and very transparent with us.

I work at the shop with my boss, another girl that’s been there about 6 months longer than me & two newer girls.

The oldest girl has a baby and constantly calls in due to “her baby being sick” & because she had a head ache and little things like that. He husband doesn’t work every day bc he is a contractor so he could very well keep the 3 yr old from 9-4 while the girl worked on most of those days. She calls in at least once a month, has a week paid vacation in July and asks off every so often.— my boss doesn’t say anything to her about it. We are pretty relaxed. She is obviously my boss’ favorite & it shows in many ways on the job.

One of the younger girls is 5-10 minutes late every day — my boss says nothing about it.

The last younger girl started last week which, due to training purposes, has caused my 8th schedule change in one year. — it’s fine, I say nothing. It’s pretty relaxed and I’m pretty flexible so why not? No biggie.

My boss takes trips with her husband about 4 times a year and is gone from the shop for a week+ when “life gets busy” & we just keep up with everything. No biggie. We are able so why not?

I took a trip with my husband in April, have a mission trip mid-June (I’m a ministry team director) and my (paid) family vacation in July. Total (work week) days asked off: 16 days.

Total # of “call ins” this year: 1

I’m never late.

I work for free some weekends bc we are friends & i want to help my friend succeed in her business. My husband has come to help & work for free many times, I’ve been 2 hours away & paid for my own hotel to work for free at conventions, & I have a great work ethic.

Along will all the other issues not mentioned, I was told today that she couldn’t let me off work for my mission trip bc i “take too many vacations and it’s not fair to the other girls.”

REALLY?

I’m super upset and debating on [KINDLY] putting in my 2 weeks.

Am I being dramatic?
