Is endo a disability?

Do you guys consider endometriosis a disability? Please share your thoughts 💭

I think it should be considered a disability! I was one of those that thought it was just “bad periods”. I became ill after having my son and had so many symptoms was always in pain ended up losing my job because I unfortunately became unreliable because I was either in so much pain or had a bad stomach/sick one or the other. I went through so many tests and last month I had a laparoscopy to find out it was endometriosis. Never did I think that would be causing all of the problems. It is such a struggle with the pain, I get pain after walking or standing lots. My job meant I had to be on my feet for 10 hours or so a day in the end I couldn’t do it, after 2 hours I’d be in horrendous pain and then start bleeding. Even now people think I am just dramatic with it, as they don’t understand how it actually affects people’s lives. Hopefully there will be a time when they do.

I’ve lived with it for 15 years now and i live a normal life. When i have a flair up it’s rough but it’s not every day and i can still function. Im nurse so I’m always busy. I’ve learn to cope with the pain without meds. But everyone is different.

I wouldn’t say it’s a disability. Yes it can be a pain at times. For some people it seems like it’s painful all the time and they can’t seem to escape. For others the pains on and off and they just continue to live a normal life. I work full time in an active job and the only thing I hate is how tired I am everyday. Whether that’s an endo thing or something else I don’t know. But I wouldn’t say I’m disabled.

I have fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, and recently have had seizures in my sleep. 
Before my diagnosis I didn’t know what was happening to my body. 
Now I believe endo ties in with the rest of my other diseases. 
It certainly plays a role with me in helping figuring out other things I have. So most certainly a disability or parts of my disabilities for me.
