Ancestry dna 😟

Alright so I did ancestry dna & it confirms my ghost-ness.

No surprises here, but I was curious about what specific regions. Ive gotten the *exotic* comment quite a few times which is something ignorant white people say about others, not one of their own 😂.

I always joked about my instant ability to burn because I have no melanin in me, and it’s actually a fact.

I don’t even have Italian in me. No Native American. No Spanish. No Greek. No middle eastern. I have - 1% Iberian peninsula. That’s it.

However... I have PAGES of ~cousins~ that are POC.

Some are on there out of curiosity, one has a YouTube channel they did a video about, some are serious and have done deep digging and research. She sent a first message with a “yeah your family owned my family what up cuz” 😩

Turns out one side of my family owned a LOT of plantation property. At one point it was nearly a quarter of the state.

I cannot imagine how that might have factored in to me having all of these cousins... and I feel absolutely disgusted by it.

So yeah. Confederate soldiers. Plantation owners. So on & so on. And the sad part is I am still the beneficiary in society to these inhumane mistreatments and injustices that continue in modern ways to this day.

I feel like I have this urge to -do something- but what can I do? This wasn’t right and I’m a descendant of it.
