I just had an emergency c section with my first baby. If I ever have another baby, is recovery the same better or harder??

Answer

I also had to have an emergency c-section and asked my sis in law the same question as she has just had a planned c-sec after her 1st being an emergency one.
She said that the anticipation was worse knowing she was going to have surgery and the immediate recovery was worse as in the first few days after but that she thinks that she feels much better earlier on in her recovery then she did after the first one. She thinks the initial recovery was worse as she hadn’t had the pain of labour before hand so it wasn’t a relief from the pain as it was the first time. She also said that she thinks she feels better sooner as she was more confident this time with her 2nd baby and so was able to plan much better in order to aid her recovery and get as much rest as possible.
