Light contractions and some mucus plug loss?!?

Question

This morning I lost a good chunk of my mucus plug, all day I’ve been having light inconsistent 1 min or more long contractions. They aren’t really painful just really tight feeling. Should I call my OB or just wait and see if anything changes? I’m due Wednesday but up until now I’ve not been dilated at all and only 30 % effaced.

For first time moms it is recommended to follow the 5-1-1 or 4-1-1 rule; the first number being how far apart a contraction is from another, lasting 1 min for 1 hr. For second + time moms usually 10-1-1 since labor is quicker and dilation can go from 1-10 in a blink of an eye. If your water broke, the standard is you have 24hrs to give birth in order to avoid any infections and such so make your way to the hospital before the 24hrs even if your contractions are far apart.
