Postpartum depression?

Has anyone dealt with postpartum depression? I've been feeling so down and hopeless and having disturbing thoughts ever since about 1.5-2 months after I had my son (7 months ago). I'm debating on making a doctor's appointment.

Making a doctor's appointment is an excellent idea. You are not alone in this, and as many 1 in 7 women in the US deal with postpartum depression. Please don't be afraid to talk to your doctor because it's perfectly okay to ask for help!

Hi Crystal. Im Claire and I was sorry to read that you've been feeling down since having your son. This can be very common and what you're feeling is normal. I would whole heartedly recommend going to see your GP because sometimes what you're feeling can be caused by a chemical imbalance within the brain. Don't worry though. This can often be treated with some medication. Some women also find that talking to someone like a nurse or a psychologist can really help. Please pick up the phone and make an appointment to get checked out. Have you tried talking to your partner or family or friends? Please chat to others and let them know how you're feeling. Yes I struggled with depression after my daughter was born (she's 14 now) and you should go see your doctor for sure as soon as possible! Things do get better at least they did for me, the first year was just really tough.
