Pregnant first cycle after IUD removal?

I had my Skyla IUD removed on April 25 and got pregnant the first cycle after (ovulated May 11). Currently 4w4d. My OB told me at my removal appointment to wait one cycle before trying, but I obviously didn’t listen and can’t find good information about why to wait a cycle other than for dating purposes. Has anyone been told to wait just one cycle? Why?

My doctor told me to wait until I had a normal period after having Skyla removed to “fluff up my uterine lining”. It’s to reduce the risk of miscarriage. I think plenty of women still have healthy pregnancies even if they didn’t wait a month.

Call your doc & ask. I was told to wait one cycle after Mirena removal - I didn't ask why, but I am guessing she said it for good reasons.

When I got my iud removed I was told I could start trying immediately. I had the Mirena.
