Depression?

I have a lack of attachment to my baby, I’m currently 12 weeks and I don’t feel the attachment/ love that everyone talks about...
I’m scared and nervous, help??

I’m 36 weeks with my third and final child. I have two sons, 3 and 1.5 years old. I have NEVER felt a connection to any of my babies while in the womb at any point. I can not say I loved them while I carried them. I had to attachment. Once they were born, especially my eldest, my world stopped. Something snapped in my brain and the entirety of who I am revolves around my baby. With both my sons, I fell in love with them after they were born. I expect the same this time as well. Don’t be afraid. People expect ALL women to be SO in love with their babies through pregnancy, but for some of us, that’s not reality.

Maybe you’ll feel more connected once baby starts moving a lot. Give it a few more months. 🙂

I kind of have experienced that on and off throughout my pregnancy. Moreso, I just don't pay as much attention/kinda indifferent to my belly. Idk, I'm 33 weeks. I love feeling him move, but I'm not obsessed like I was with my first. A lot of times it's like pushing him down and out of my ribs and feeling uncomfortable and basically just waiting for him to be born so I can be comfy again lol if it doesn't go away, your doc or midwife would be good to talk to if it worries you

I think it’s normal. I’ve finally started to feel a bit bonded at 16w but earlier, nothing. I felt terrible. A lot of women have told me they felt similarly (like, logically happy they’re pregnant but just not bonded to the baby at all). They have almost all told me their strong bond really came around when they started consistently feeling movement, and one said it happened at birth.

Not all women feel an attachment during pregnancy. Some feel it when they get the first positive, others when they see them at the first US, some have to feel them kick, others need them to be born first, and some even have to spend a few days with their baby before feeling attached. I personally never felt an attachment to my son during pregnancy. I felt it the moment I held him for the first time. I'm 23 weeks with my second and don't feel the attachment with him yet either.
