Anxious for 2nd birth
Only 25 weeks, but constantly thinking about how labor and birth will be with this little guy. My daughter is 2 now and man, her pregnancy was so easy compared to his! I only had one hospital visit and it was around 28 weeks due to some severe vomiting. But, with my dude, I've been admitted 3 different times (each for 3 days minimum, ugh) due to kidney infections and my severe anemia causing me to need blood transfusions and iron infusions every few weeks. Here's my daughter's birth story 😍
Anyways, with my daughter, I was induced at 39 weeks due to my hip dysplasia (we knew it would be needed, if not a scheduled c-section). I got there around 6pm the night before to thin my cervix. I had a bunch of weird medical things I needed done before we started the pitocin, which we ended up not starting until 7am so my body could start the process naturally. Well, once we started it, things got going! I was only at 2cm, then by 9am I was a 4cm. I then requested the epidural, but they had an emergency come in so he was with someone else at the time. As time passes, contractions are getting INSANE. My husband, mom, and sister were doing so well with keeping me comfortable. We listened to music and danced a little, trying to distract. FINALLY, the anesthesiologist and my nurse comes in. She checks me and I'm at an 8! At this time, it's around 11:45am and she says that after my epidural is in, she's going to call my doctor. She leaves and no kidding, 15 minutes later, I tell my mom that I need to push. I didn't know how it was possible, but there was NO stopping it. So my mom runs and grabs the nurse and this girl was like, "We just checked her, she'll be fine. We will check her again in half an hour." LMAO WRONG ANSWER. My mom went all mama bear on her and got that lady in there to check me within a few minutes. Well what do ya know, 10cm and ready to go! However, no doctor. So everyone is like, "wait! we need your doctor!" But my daughter had other plans. I told the nurse I needed to push right now and she just held her hands out and said, "okay push!" First push and she says, "There's her head!" My mom and husband are all up in my hoo-ha like "Holy hell this is awesome!" so I was cracking up. Then as I'm starting my second push, my doctor walks in, puts on one glove and football catches my daughter as she comes out for my 3rd push. And she was delivered at 12:32pm. Overall, this was such a beautiful and successful birth to me. And to be my first, it was SO SHORT. All my nurses were praising me, lol. Well, with how different these pregnancies are, I'm so nervous. I want this birth to be the same way, but my doctor doesn't even think I'll make it passed 37 weeks with all of my medical problems. So fingers crosses!! Lmao, here's my beautiful girl! Soon to be big sister!
