Illegal or not ?

So this happen to me. A teacher is randomly taking pictures of me around school without my permission and the school doesn't have my permission where I can be posted on the school website or social media unless approved by parents. She now is doing this to other students and their uncomfortable with it to.

Normally parents are given a release form to sign in the beginning of the year stating if they’re okay with pictures being taken and posted. If your parents signed that they were NOT okay with it then yes, it is illegal for her to do that. When I worked at an elementary school a few coworkers got in trouble for taking pictures of the students. I used to do the kids Christmas pictures and always created a release form for parents to sign and only took pictures of the kids that had signed forms to be certain.

I don’t know if it’s illegal or not as something may have been signed by your parents without you knowing, giving them permission to do so.

Yes. It’s legal. Schools are a public place, and people can be photographed without permission in public places. 
Usually there’s specific district policy about getting permission, but it’s not a legal requirement. 
Harassment is illegal though. If s teacher is only targeting a few students that’s a problem. 
Either way the school should respect student boundaries. I’d bring up to someone in administration.

***** Update***** . I'll be posting for her since it won't let it block out her name. But we go to school together and have talked to our resource police officer and it is illegal. But they can't do nothing about it unless a certain amount of people will complain to. Either she be wrote up or fired. But for sure her parents didn't sign a sheet because of her religion as she already get picked on about at school for her beliefs and doing.

They usually send a sheet Home that your parents sign saying they can take pictures of you for certain things. Did your parents sign it?
