this year on the Sunday of anime north we had a bunch of religious extremist protesters show up. they came with signs & megaphones to spread hate to our wonderfully inclusive event. the group belongs to openairoutreach. they stood there spitting at con-goers, telling young girls they were whores for showing skin & deserved to be raped because of it. that they need to go back to being domestic & serving men or they were going to hell. a young girl was dancing in a cosplay which showed no more than her forearms & they told her she was such a whore she could fit a bus in her vagina. they shouted at any Islamic person that we should kill them. that all the lgbt members deserve to die. we were told we were going to hell for watching anime & reading manga & that if they hadn't shown up to our event god would have smited the event & that because we are sinners we are all going to die & deserve it. so we Did what all good con-goers would do, drowned them out & made a joke of it until they left. con-goers chanted hantai, yoai to drown out their words. a cosplayers as loki pretended to command the crowd, someone parked a car behind them with metal cranked up while the others danced. duckman brought his drums over to the other group & played loud enough to cover their voices. a cosplayer as a crusader came over & stated he loved everyone. a cosplayer as a Jedi looked like the typical "white person Jesus" came over and shouted "I have returned, & I love all of you "to the con-goers. the protestors gave up & crossed the street to the hotel. then the hotel put their sprinklers on to drive them off.
