No doctor, 31 weeks
I need advice ladies!
I’m 31 weeks and my husband and I have gotten into a bit of a problem. We will be stuck out of state until I’m at least 37 weeks, possibly longer. We are prepared with all of baby’s things in case he does come before we get home. It’s not an option to get home until then due to some things happening that I won’t explain because that would take a lot of time.
No doctor around here takes my insurance and we don’t have the spare money to pay out of pockets, even if it was payments. Not that any doctor would take me anyways.
I have ordered the same urine test strips my OB uses and will be testing my urine weekly just like they do. I also have ordered a blood pressure monitor so I can monitor that too. This is my 3rd baby so I know what to look for when it comes to labor. I’m counting kicks, looking out for anything abnormal and will go to the hospital if I find anything.
I’m basically doing everything the OB does, except for cervix check as obviously I can’t do that myself. So that’s a big concern. Plus he’s measuring about a pound more than average so I’m worried about that as well, as it’s possible I would have to be induced.
I hate that I cannot make it home at the moment but I’m wondering if you ladies have any ideas as to what else I can do? I’m thinking maybe if I can’t get home by 37 weeks, I could go into the hospital and explain the situation and maybe they could check my cervix and do an ultrasound or have my doctor order it for down here (idk if they can do that)
If In the event we cannot make it home by then, and I hit full term and he still hasn’t come on his own, do I just go to the hospital and will they induce me? (Assuming I’m overdue) ?
Ugh this is so stressful!!
