Special Dinner
Hypothetical:
Someone invites you and some other people to their special event dinner (birthday, engagement, graduation, etc)
How should the bill be handled?
A) Dinner host pays for everyone
B) Everyone pays for their own meal
C) Dinner hosts meal is paid for by someone invited

Bonus: does it depend on the occasion?
For example, for my graduation my husband and I went out to dinner afterwards with a few people. We covered the bill. For his birthday lunch, everyone paid for themselves.
