Welcome to the world Adeline Jean!
Welcome Adeline Jean. Born weighing 8lbs 9oz at 10:11pm. She is such a joy and precious part of our family already!
Yesterday morning was like any other day at work, except that at any point I could go into labor. Thankfully we had a good plan in place in case this were to happen at work. Well...it’s a dang good thing we had that plan in place!
At about 8:40am I was getting stuff taken care of for patients when all of a sudden it was time to GO. Contacted all of the necessary people and finished up a couple of things, texted my husband (who was still sleeping by the way 😂) and I was off. He texted back that he was getting in the shower and I was driving home. All was going to plan, well backup plan, and we couldn’t be happier.
Once I got home and changed out of my work scrubs and into comfy clothes for the hospital we were on our way. Made the call to the doctor’s office and let them know that we were on the way. Once we got to L&D; we were checked and it was verified that we weren’t leaving. Funny thing is that when we went into the triage room there was a tour for new parents going on at the same time. Not long after we were taken to our room and we got the IV started and everything else in place to welcome our daughter into this world.
Late last night with two contractions and five pushes Adeline made her grand entrance with the most beautiful cries! Our hearts melted and both my husband and I were crying just hearing those sweet cries of our baby girl. She is already a rockstar when it comes to nursing, and slept like a champ last night after we got to our main room. Our older kids got to come and see her and we all got to witness her first smile. ☺️ Of course my husband swears it was “just gas”, but I know better.
