Diabetic test?

I have my orange drink test coming up at the end of the month and I’m scared shitless. I’m afraid to fail it. It’s a one hour test and was wondering for the people who passed the test what they did that day? What did you eat or how long after eating did you do the test? Anyone have any tips?

I was told not eat any differently because it would be tampering with the results. I ate like i normally would any other day. I had cereal for breakfast a Sandwich for lunch with a cupcake then i took my test. You need to eat as normal as possible.

I was so scared I was going to fail! I scheduled my test for 9:30 and I hadn’t eaten since dinner the night before around 6. I drank a lot of water, I also was careful of my sugar intake the days leading up to the test. Drank my test and continued drinking a lot of water. I passed! Good luck.

I failed it with my first pregnancy by two points and had to do the three hour test to make sure everything was okay.
second pregnancy - I fasted for 12hours and then went and done my glucose and passed it. only drink water during fasting.

I thought you were supposed to fast beforehand? Don’t worry about failing the one hour test, tons of women do but pass the three hour test. Ask your doctor if you can monitor your blood sugar manually for a week instead of the test if you really don’t want to take it.

I’m doing the 1 hour in a month and I get to have something with more protein like a hour before my appointment

My doctor said I didn’t have to fast but to not eat anything sugary before hand, it’s happening in about two weeks so I’m going to be cautious of my food intake the day before and the morning of I’ll probably just have eggs. My brother is a juvenile diabetic so I’m at higher risk, but we’ve tested my blood sugar a few times in the past during this pregnancy and haven’t seen any rise in numbers, so I’m hoping it will be ok especially cuz if I can’t have a little chocolate each week I’m gonna cry cuz it’s my biggest craving ever... chocolate chip cookies, but just one and a fresh one from Whole Foods 🤣.  I heard stress is a factor as well so keep calm and try not to stress out about it!

You really aren’t supposed to do anything different cuz it kinda defeats the point of the test. If you only watch sugar for the days before and not after it’s not exactly an accurate test. You’re supposed to eat normal so they know if you really have it or not. Also your dr should tell you if they want you to fast otherwise you’ll feel much better if you have eaten before. If you haven’t eaten it can be rough.

I’m doing mine next month and I was told to fast. I’ve heard it tastes better with ice. I have low blood sugar anyways so this is gonna kick my butt...
