Keeping a secret?

Hey ladies! Baby S is due Feb 11th, my first dr appointment is July 3rd...
Here is my struggle: we spend most evenings/weekends hanging out with close friends and family at a local swimming spot... There is typically a few beers had. Also, a big party at the end of June with lots of friends and family. My birthday is also mid June. 
Do I tell early? Do I try to make excuses? This is our first pregnancy.

I’m in a similar situation with several events and a big family holiday coming up (and everyone is already talking about cocktails). It will be hard for sure but I’m going to try to keep quiet. Buy some bottles of “wine” without alcohol and sneak them in. Probably pretend at some point that I have a UTI or something that people can’t tell and that requires taking antibiotics. During my first pregnancy I also made an arrangement with a bar keeper one night to serve me soft drinks but make them look like mixed drinks (serve Coke like he would rum & Coke, etc.). It was hard, though. I was really happy when the first 12 weeks had passed.

Tell a few close friends. I was in the same position with first pregnancy. Drank non alco beer poured into a glass 😄 you could postpone bday celebrations due to sickness 😉 I also told people I was cutting down on drinking cos we were ‘trying ‘!!

Can you fake drink? Like bring a cup premade? I know this wouldn’t work for me because my girls are nosey as crap and would just take my cup and taste it but it may for some. I also had the advice of telling friends you don’t want to drink because you are ttc, also wouldn’t work in my case but it may in someone’s. We told our group early...like the day I hit 4 weeks. I had planned a big group camping/float trip for Memorial Day and I found out a few days prior to going. So I got our closest friends a bottle of my fave and had my bestie “unpack” it for me.

I should add I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy so I know the feelings of telling to early then telling the bad news. I think it really all just depends on your friend circle.
