I’m at a loss

Long story short.. me and my fiancé recently got engaged and we are undecided on wedding ideas. His dad currently lives out of state and won’t be able to make it to a wedding this year, we both want to be married before our baby is due which is in Nov. my fiancé doesn’t want to have a wedding without his dad here, and wants to get eloped and that’s it. I don’t agree, getting eloped to me is just signing a paper and that’s it it’s nothing special to me (please don’t take offense to anyone who has been eloped) I guess I just feel like his dad’s happiness is more important than mine. Maybe It’s just my hormones? I’m not sure what to do any advice is appreciated.
